La Ceiba, Atlantida, Honduras, Central America – A Honduran Garifuna Woman, Kerlyn Castillo Loredo, was shot to death inside her home on THURSDAY, April 20th 2023 in the East Irias Neighborhood behind the Ministry La Cosecha in La Ceiba, Atlantida, Honduras.

According to initial information from witnesses, a man who arrived at her Maranatha Grocery Store, which operated out of her home, shot at her until she was Dead.

Honduran National Police Agents arrived at the Miss Kerlyn Castillo Loredo’s house to investigate and are presuming that it is a case of extortion.

Women dying in Honduras
According to Reports, 75 Women have violently died in the first two months of 2023. 30% of those killed were between the ages of 30 and 59 years of age. Young and poor women are the main victims of Violence in Honduras.

Honduran Media declare that 95% of the cases of murder of women in Honduras go unsolved or unpunished due to lack of investigation or other causes.

I have not been able to determine whether Miss Kerlyn Castillo Loredo was married. A casual scan of her social media, reveals that she had three children consisting of two Daughters and one Son. They are now left without a Mother.

Hopefully, an Investigation uncovers something and the Murderer is caught. Sadly, odds of that happening are low.
