Suspect in Machete Attack on Elderly Honduran Garifuna Man, is Captured and Arrested

La Ceiba, Atlantida, Honduras, Central America – On East Boulevard, Honduran Authorities captured Josue Amed Alvarez, presumed Guilty of murdering his father Silvinio Alvarez Sabio in a machete attack. He was captured on MONDAY, April 17th 2023. One day after his father, Silvinio Alvarez Sabio, died from his injuries.

Family and friends of the alleged perpetrator, Josue Amed Alvarez, turned him in. Josue was handed over to the Police, apparently without incident, so he could begin his legal process.

Wess Alvarez, another son of Mr. Silvinio Alvarez Sabio, released a statement on Facebook regarding the passing of his father. He wrote:
“We deeply appreciate the expressions of condolences addressed to our family for the death of our father, who in life was, Mr. Silvinio Alvarez Sabio.”
“For us, it is not an easy or pleasant moment. There are many questions we ask ourselves, and we get few answers in return. It is a moment of immense pain and confusion.”
“However, we know that our father Rests In Peace. So we as a family, cling to the promise of Resurrection in Jesus Christ recorded numerous times in the Word of God.”
“Today, my Dad is not alive, but his memories, his words, and his teachings remain alive and will remain forever in our minds and hearts.”
“We give Thanks to all our relatives, neighbors, friends and citizens in general for all the wishes and support shown to our family. Likewise, it is propitious for those, who like us, are believers in Jesus, regardless of religious denomination, keep praying for our family. God Bless You.” – Wess Alvarez

There are currently no reports as to what sparked this murder. As the Investigation unfolds, perhaps that information will be revealed to the public.
