Bronx, New York – Non-Profit Organization, Hondurans Against AIDS Inc (a.k.a Casa Yurumein) hosts their annual celebration of Women at The 2023 Barauda Awards.

At this Gala Event, Women, mostly of Garifuna Heritage, representing various local and international Hometown Associations, Civic Organizations, Dance Companies, etc are recognized for their service to the Garifuna community.

Garifuna Singers, Paula Castillo, Felix Gamboa Valentin and Nino Arzu are scheduled to perform at The 2023 Barauda Awards. Music, Food, and Rousing speeches about Culture and Service should result in a festive evening.

The 2023 Barauda Awards will take place on SUNDAY, November 5th 2023 at Grand Slam Banquet Hall in the Bronx. Doors open at 6pm.

The Barauda Awards are named after one of the wives of Garifuna Chief, Joseph Chatoyer. While Joseph Chatoyer was polygamous, Barauda is the sole wife whose name we know.
