At this Annual Garifuna Tribute, assorted Garinagu (plural for Garifuna) gather together to contemplate, acknowledge and celebrate our Garifuna Ancestors.

Whether it be relatives or friends who have passed away, this Annual Event serves as an opportunity to publicly remember them.

This Annual Garifuna Tribute to the Ancestors in the Bronx began in 2014. It mirrors the Black American Tribute to the Ancestors that takes place in Coney Island, Brooklyn. That tribute has gone on for over 30 Years.

This Garifuna Tribute to the Ancestors is filled with Singing, Dancing, Music, Meditation and Praying. Participants are asked to wear all White Clothing and bring Food to serve as an offering to the Ancestors.
