Brooklyn, New York — I attended a special concert in the East New York section of Brooklyn, New York. It was at a Sports Bar/Restaurant called Mundo Maya and took place on July 31st 2009.

As the headline suggests, it was a Birthday Party for Performing Artist and Musician of Garifuna Heritage, Lil June and Musicians of Garifuna Heritage, Mateo and Tito.

The evening also was a Music Concert featuring Music Artists and Bands of Garifuna Heritage, Lil June, Xcstacy Band, Chicas Bonitas and Young Gari. It was inspiring witnessing the development of this Garifuna Music Scene featuring Young Garifuna People. They made their own space and supported each other. Photographing this event provided much satisfaction.
