Manhattan, New York City — TODAY, Saturday, April 26th 2025, Garinagu far and wide will gather for the highly anticipated presentation of The 2025 Miss Garifuna USA NY Cultural Pageant candidates.

This festive event, organized by Garifuna non-profit organization, Casa Yurumein (a.k.a. Hondurans Against AIDS Inc), marks the formal introduction to the public of the young women vying for the prestigious title of Miss Garifuna USA NY 2025.

Attendees of this event include, the families and friends of the Candidates, Garifuna Community Leaders, supporters of the Garifuna Community, Sponsors of the Event, as well as people from the General Public.

In the Cultural Pageant, the Candidates mime various aspects of Garifuna culture, take part in a question and answer quiz where they each answer a question of Garifuna Culture and/or History and deliver an opening speech about themselves in the Garifuna Language.

Following this event, the Candidates go through months of training in aspects of Garifuna Culture. As well as Public Speaking Training and Leadership.
