Brooklyn, New York: The 2022 Brooklyn Garifuna Settlement Day Cultural Mass will take place on SUNDAY, November 13th 2022 at 2:30pm.

This Cultural Mass will be at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Brownsville, Brooklyn. This Annual Cultural Mass celebrates the arrival of Garifuna People to the Country of Belize. This particular Cultural Mass will also Honor Men and Women who serve in the Belize Arm Forces.

This Garifuna Settlement Day Cultural Mass also commemorates the co-founder of Garifuna Settlement Day in Belize, Garifuna Civil Rights Activist, Mr. Thomas Vincent Ramos. Belize is the only country in the world where Garifuna Settlement Day is both a Federal Holiday and Bank Holiday.

Typically, this Cultural Mass takes place a few days before Garifuna Settlement Day takes place in Belize, which is on November 19th.

Nicaragua also celebrates Garifuna Settlement Day on November 19th. Guatemala celebrates Garifuna Settlement Day on November 26th. Finally, April 12th is when the Arrival of ALL Garinagu to Honduras/Central America from their native St. Vincent Island is celebrated.
