Belize, Central America – While scanning Facebook a few minutes ago, I read a post calling for Healing Rosary Prayers for Bishop Lawrence Nicasio on December 31st 2023 at 3pm.

Bishop Lawrence Nicasio, who is of Belizean Garifuna Heritage, has been fighting Cancer and is currently being cared for in Belize.

According to a Press Release from The Roman Catholic Diocese of Belize City and Belmopan, After wishing Parishioners, and the Public a Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year 2024, Bishop Nicasio is “moved by your Love and Prayers, and your desire to visit him.”

The Press Release continues, “Unfortunately, because of his Health Condition, visits are now restricted. He is receiving Palliative Care at his residence. Let us continue to pray for our Bishop. Thank you. May God Bless Us now and Always.”

According to the Mayo Clinic, Palliative Care is “specialized health care that focuses on providing relief from pain and other symptoms of a serious illness.”

In July of 2022, Bishop Lawrence Nicasio had surgery to remove blockage from his Colon.

Upon additional examination, the blockage was shown to be Cancerous, requiring further treatment.
