Manhattan, NY: On Thursday morning, October 20th 2022, a man hit a commuter on the head with a sword sheath on a New York City subway train.
.
In hearing about this incident on the news, I thought it was another example of something crazy in the New York City subway system.
.
Upon seeing surveillance video of the suspect and reading his name, I wondered, is he a Garifuna?
.
.
The news reported that 27 year old Selwyn Bernardez is the suspect who allegedly hit a man, Peter Griffin on the head with a sword sheath.
.
Ironically, the victim was arrested in 2019 for allegedly placing rice cookers to be used as fake bombs at the same subway station, the Chambers Street Subway Station on the A or C Subway Line in Manhattan.
.
.
Mr. Selwyn Bernardez was arrested and faced charges of assault and reckless endangerment.
.
Upon hearing and reading the name Selwyn Bernardez, I thought to myself, “Is he a Garifuna?”
.
There are conflicting reports as to what exactly happened, and who knows what led up to this fight at a New York City Subway Station?
